After yesterday’s post I wanted to lighten the mood a bit, I needed to lighten it more than anything.... so I’m going to talk about our 3 cats, well 4 sort of, that we currently have. We have had a lot of animals, I mean who can’t resist a wagging tail of a puppy or purring hum of a little kitten snuggled in under my chin. One of the great benefits of Animals, they have the ability to lower blood pressure and make a persons over all well being better.

Now before we got it under control, at one time I think we had 3 litters of cats at once for a total of 25 cats . When we moved in and there was a previous cat, a pregnant kitty, and another showed up out of the blue and of course pregnant too. The one was living under our old crooked garden shed, which I fixed that problem and just built a new one 👇🏻.

Well our mama Cat She had kittens. Then those kittens, had kittens. Slowly it was a slippery slope, that very fast could, DID get out of control.

With the litters and watching her give birth the kids were so excited. It was a wonderful experience for our kids to see this at a young age, they both still talk of it fondly. We found homes for some and we kept some as well . Our furry babies, We would try to get them spayed and neutered the ones we decided to keep as to not be irresponsible. Yes living on an acreage we need a couple mousers forsure we do or we would soon be over run by mice. This was all new to us, we were learning as we went, it was a hell of a learning curve . Since we gave away to family and friends and other good homes who wanted a kitty, it is still nice to beable to visit them all. It seems every time we got them spayed or neutered they would vanish? But some of them come back for visits .......

Horton – he roams the wild, and loves it. Comes home to say hi and get some love every few months. He always smells like a ladies perfume, well fed and happy, which leads me to believe he has a family that loves him. He came home just before winter and his ear was oozing puss. It was infected, so off to our vet we went. We kept him inside for a week while he healed and we cleaned his wounds. He just came for a visit a week ago stayed for two days then on his way he went, I think we are his AirBnb vacation property 😂

Other than Horton who visits from time to time we have three now, only two go outside during the day and then wait at the door to be let back inside at bed time. If they aren’t at the door it just takes a holler “ KITKAT ... OSCAR ... BEDTIME!! “ they come squawking, meowing and running towards the door from where ever they curled up for a nap 💤

DUFFY OR DUFF

Now this one has stole a large part of my heart, a very special place in my heart, we rescued him from my wife’s client who were going to give him to the SPCA. As soon as we got him something was off ? He had a howel to his meow, a real funny sound and he is LOUD We found this out when we made popcorn, draw the curtains and sit down to watch a good movie, a real suspenseful movie. Duff out of the blue would meow so loud we all would jump. Well, he is deaf. So he can’t hear himself, he has no clue he is loud... He cuddles and snuggles like no other cat I’ve had. He also has a super power, Duff can jump really far and really high ... from our kitchen Island to our dining table is about 10’ and he jumps from the island to the table no problem. He is strictly indoors as he would not have survival skills needed to stay outside. Fitting he’s sleeping in a Cat-opoly box 😋 .... He’s getting older now and soon it will be his time to go 😢

KITKAT

You probably notice her from the mama pics in the beginning . She is our matriarch of our cat family, the momma to so many. She is now retired now from her mama days. Now hunts for fun, loves catching mice, our house is mice free thanks to her. Kit, for short, loves sleeping in patio furniture out on our deck, relaxing and absorbing the suns rays. She is the mother to our next cat. All 3 cats love to sleep and snuggle together but only one can sleep with the dogs

OSCAR

A very sweet cat who thinks he is a dog. Out of all 3 that we have now, he is the only one allowed to sleep with the pack of dogs. Julie will not allow the other two into sleep with them at all. He is pretty lazy and can be seen sleeping in trees, if you look close. Oscar and Duff are really good buds, they often find the smallest little crevices in the house and curl up together. Kitkat and Oscar roam the country side together, I’ve seen them running along together chasing birds many times ...

This was just a brief introduction to our cat’s, animals make life so much better, lower stress, lowered heart rate, reduce tension and change your mood. I love or little fur family so much 💗
