SHAPE UP or SHIP OUT ( 7 min read )

Oh it’s on Ferdi! I have your challenge in the the subscriber section. Get ready set GOOOO!

The old saying is shape up or ship out, well in my case ship out would be dying. As I get older this is something I don’t want to do. EITHER OF THEM ! I don’t want to shape up either, I’m happy in the now but my age is getting older and will only bring more health concerns and problems. I guess happy is a stretch, I wouldn’t say I’m happy in the now, but the thought of exercise on top of my daily job seems like a killer to me. I keep putting it off and saying I don’t have time, I’m too busy . But really I don’t want the battle that is ahead of me. The below image I think I’m second from the left. But I could be far left. It sneaks up on you and sneaks up fast. I have a crazy physical job, I’ve had friends help me before at work who go to the gym and can’t keep up to me at work, the next day they can’t move because of how sore they are. If I can get my diet under control and hit the gym 2-3days a week I think I can beat the battle and win the war, waist line war

I’ve battled weight all my life, in my younger days it was easy to keep it in check. I played hockey at a very high competitive level 6 days a week and worked out 3-4 days a week. 6’4” 230 lbs solid muscle. Then life became more important , worked more , exercise was none existent, I ate bad daily because it was easy. I put on weight and lost, put on more, tried Atkins diet and it worked I lost 200 lbs but put it back on . I fought and fought. A life style change is what I need, not a diet. I know how to do it, in my late 20’s early 30’s I lived and worked out reading the Arnold Schwarzenegger encyclopedia as my bible.

I don’t want to brag, ok I do, My biceps were 2” smaller than Arnold’s. I was pretty proud of that, I don’t want that this time. This time I’m about heath. I don’t need to be shredded, I just don’t know if I have the drive to loose weight again. It’s a lot of work.

This literally will be the battle of a life time, my life time, it’s a battle for my life.

Ferdi XRPTWIN is going to be coming along with me on this journey as he too said he has to shed some pounds as he put it. Make sure you check out his posts on weight loss as well. We will do challenges for one another and kind of make it fun 😊. Me being larger, I have more to lose 200 lbs approx. But really it’s not about my weight, it’s about when I start to feel better and healthier. I’m not a fan of scales, because as you build muscle you get heavier. So scales can be used to measure weekly or monthly goals and that’s all. Even in high school by height and weight I was considered obese, really ?? I was in good shape. So weight alone can not be tracked.
