TEACHERS, I AM SO GRATEFUL

One thing COVID-19 has opened my eyes to is teachers, how much I love teachers. Lee and I homeschooled the boys once before. It was for one year, at the time it was our best option, we quickly learned that this was not for us. I have repressed how much I hated that year. Again everything came flooding back like a tsunami crashing in on the unsuspecting land, wiping out and decimating everything in its path. I have a renewed appreciation for teachers after dealing with this quarantine. I will mention a great teacher I remember from my high school days, my automotive teacher in high school, Mr.Petigrew. He was just an amazing teacher, went above and beyond with his class. Always joking around and made learning fun.

Really, when you think about it little appreciation and thanks goes towards our teachers, support staff and all the T.A.’s. Our kids lives are literally in there hands every day. Our children see the teacher as much as they see their family, in some cases even more. Sure there are good apples and bad apples, as far as teachers go. Mostly good thank god! Both are molding our kids minds, just like in art class they are using molding clay to make something beautiful, our teachers are molding our children into adults, year by year.

This is a big thank you to all the teachers out there♥️

🔹Thanks for spending your own money on projects for your class

🔹 Thanks for going the extra mile with our kids

🔹Thanks for turning our boys and girls into productive men and women

🔹 Thanks for staying after class to help the struggling ones

🔹Thanks for being you ♥️

I’m not a teacher but I have things to teach, can I awaken a Spark in someone else, like Harold did for me? An interest in being a Carpenter? Harold lit my fire now can I pass the torch on to someone else in hopes, that they, when the time comes can pass it on? Can they run with the torch and mold the torch into there own teachable moments in life?

My post yesterday was about Harold a great teacher that I had when I was a carpenter’s apprentice. He was not paid to teach me, he was there to work just like I was. But he taught me daily, Lots of the skills I have I attribute to him.

“Can I be like Harold?”

When I was younger I did it all, very hard for me to pass the reins to some one else. I liked the control part of the project. If anything is wrong or terrible workmanship I knew who to blame, the one and only, yours truly....... ME!!! If I let some one else do the work then what if it needs to be redone? Then I have to do it anyway, costing more time and materials.. so in my head it costs more to let someone’s else do it. Over all I need to work on my teaching... I really hope the boys go back to school in the fall, my wife @MommaLeeLee does 90% of the school work with the boys. God bless her and she is at the end of her rope, she too, realizes she’s not a teacher.

I’m just not a teacher. I really hope I can learn to teach and pass my skills on to another eager apprentice. But as far as homeschooling goes, fuck you Covid
