YOU CALLED HER JANE, I CALLED HER MOM
Virginia Jane , but she went by Jane. Recently Michael B had a Throwback Thursday I loved all his pictures and I wanted to track down some for Mother’s Day, it took some doing but, glad I did. This is always a tough time of year for me, a really tough time this year I’m not sure why? But feels harder this year. This year on Oct 27 will pass another year of her passing. She passed on from lung cancer that reached late Stage 4 by the time it was caught. Misdiagnosed for a couple of years, they thought it was Lupus. Appointments got canceled by the doctors and weren’t rescheduled. Everyone dropped the ball. I feel if my mom had a better advocate, like Patty B is for Michael, then maybe, just maybe she might be around.
To those of you that have lost your moms, I feel your pain everyday. It’s like a void deep in my soul, a void that can’t be filled by anything. To those of you that still have your mother, can call them and hear there voice I say this. Stop reading, call them , tell them you love them. I’ll wait here for you to come back. Nothing is more important than this .. Go, GO, I SAID
From left to right my older sister Tracy, Mom, Dad and yep that cute little bugger looking for birds is little Gordie
So did you call her ? Don’t give me the “what are you talking about? You're mother, that’s who! I hope so.. in the blink of an eye it can all be gone. One day things are good, the next you are counting days ..... Well I’m a very positive person and so was my mom so I’m going to share some of her positivity and mine, also some photos from my youth which were, like I said, not fun to track down but so glad I did. I asked family from all over Canada if they had some pictures and they all came though even my sister Tracy ❤️
JEFFERY AND JASON, My older brothers I never met and truthfully I never would have, if they were healthy. My Mom had my Sister, then she had two beautiful twin baby boys. Sadly those boys, Jeffery and Jason, passed away shortly after they were born prematurely. Advancement have came along way and if J & J were born today they would have most likely lived ..... A year later she was blessed with a baby boy, Me. She always told me “ if they would have lived I wouldn’t have you Gordie” which is true because my parents would of had 1 girl and 2 boys. She said that would have been enough of a handful. My mom always had a very positive outlook. This loss though hurt to her inter core, her inter core of her sole.
My Mom and Aunt Winnie. In this pic my mom, in her early 60’s already had cancer and stopped colouring her hair and my aunt Winnie was in her 90’s. They look like they could be sisters. They certainly shoped at the same clothing store
CANCER may have killed her, but it didn’t change her attitude about life. When she had cancer she was glad that this was how she would pass, not glad I guess but, thankful is a better word. She could of had a sudden heart attack or passed suddenly away in her sleep with little to know pain. Life is about opportunities, this gave her the opportunity to say goodbye, say how much she loves us and how happy she was for everything she had in her life .... She got the time to see her friends and family, plan her estate. Most importantly spend time with her children and grand kids. She had that extra time. Extra time that is priceless at thy time in your life. Again, not grateful for cancer , She was grateful for the opportunity to say her goodbyes. This makes me think that I do hope I get the opportunity to say my goodbyes and see the people I love one more time before I dye, just like she did. I tell people all the time how I feel about them, you just never know. In such a negative world, try to think positive. If life gives me lemons then I’m making lemonade for all my friends and family ❤️
Im going to share a quote my mom shared with me and said fairly often to me :
“Life is about opportunity’s, you have and opportunity to have a positive life or a negative one.... I choose positive, how about you”
Me too Mom, me too
My Mom and Dad on thier wedding
My sister, Mom and I
My Mom and my Aunt Bonnie, both passed away from lung cancer. Bonnie passed away just before my mom by about 6 mths
My Moms Parents, My Grand parents
So today I’m thankful that my Grandma, Nelly, had my mom,Jane, so my mom could have me. The women in our lives are so important. Today is there day and let’s celebrate them. Whether they are watching us from heaven or watching us as the drive by in there car to social distance let’s say a prayer for the things we are thankful for and god bless the women in our lives.
Thank you for reading, until the next one ❤️
