It was April 10 2020 930 pm, I’m in bed about to fall asleep and for some reason I start to write. Never have I done this before, write estimates and quotes sure but, NEVER just to write, for the sake of writing. Have I had a stroke ? Am I having a heart attack? What’s happening?! My large fingers that cover half of the key board on my IPhone 8plus were just going a mile a minute, like fingers possessed they could not stop, like a person possessed I could not stop. It felt good, it felt amazing, I loved it ! With that title of being possessed it could have been a blog about xrp, I’m pretty obsessed with that also.

Remember back when you just started your career, way back... yes that far back already, WOW life flys, like a speeding train. Your career, everything was new and exciting. Fresh out of school and you were so eager, You were learning so fast, it didn’t seem like learning because you enjoyed it so much. Years would pass by, decades would pass by and your in auto pilot. Same routine everyday, every single day. You enjoy the people you work with have fun and enjoy your job. But it was just the same thing on a Tuesday, wrapped in a Friday wrapper. Then one day something new would come up that you never done and you would have to figure out something new. It was that rush again of learning. Finding something to fill your soul with passion. Something you enjoy. I tell my kids, as my dad told me :

”Find a job you really enjoy, and you’ll never work a day in your life”

Well if this is true, then why did it change for me? Carpentry I love, still do love it but, I can shut my brain off and just do it. There’s no challenge and days are getting mundane and boring almost. Most days I can run in auto pilot, which some days is good believe me! My father in-law is an electrician by trade. He can’t stand electrical work for years now, I always thought it strange but now I understand it the last couple years.

Just like Rex here 👆🏻 , I have no idea what I’m doing ?? But when I blog I feel alive, like Frankenstein filled with electricity. ITS ALIVE!!! I just feel so good writing ? Man, I never thought I would say that? It’s therapeutic for me, I love putting out these blogs. They are as much for me as they are for all of you, infact more for myself. Putting my thoughts and stories down for people to read and well, for me to read brings me joy. I jointed Twitter to keep up on Digital Asset news and followed a group of xrp people. I joint Coil to support XRP and the people that I love reading there blogs. Then one night like a already mentioned, something came over me and I had to write. The support of this little XRP fueled, coil group is just amazing. What brought us together as friends is XRP, what keeps us together is the relationships we form in this time. Don’t be scared to try something new, something challenging your mind. Step out of your comfort zone. You never know what you might find. I found a great group of people and a new passion. A passion I’ve never had before. So I’m sorry If I’m putting out lots of posts and I’m sorry if some aren’t that good. Be patient I’m learning, maybe we can learn together? I’m learning what I’m doing or trying too and you are learning about me. I love it and ...... IM JUST SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!!

Sumo walking so proud around the Expo Center, him on his leash and me holding it just as proud. A little girl, in a blue ruffle dress, comes around the corner of one of the exhibits, she says “ mom a doggie “ and starts to run to sumo. Before the mom can stop her daughter she wraps her arms around him and gives him a big hug. Then proceeds to pull his ears and say “why are his ears so pointy ?” Sumo sits there like another day at the office. I say to the little girl “because they are cropped and they do that as it helps with ear infections, they can hear better with them up” She now lifts his lips and says “wow , his teeth are so white” Sumo opens his mouth far and wide and says all the better to eat you with little girl . THE END ... haha no just Kidding. Sumo opens his mouth huge for the little girl can see his big teeth. Her mom panicking not sure what to do at this point starts yelling “honey no, no, NO !!” While running over. The mom got there and I said “ don’t worry Sumo is good, but be carful here, some dogs are not so nice. Never go up to a strange dog until the owner says it’s safe” we talked for awhile she was looking for a dog breed for her daughter. Fell In love with sumo and ended up getting a Dobe from the same breeder as I got Sumo from. It was the pet expo, we were there to showcase our breed. The Doberman Pincher and Sumo was a great spokesmen. We did this for many years, for free, because we love the Doberman. Great, loving and caring family dog. Sumo was very goofy and loved by all. I miss the expo days .....

It’s been 5 years today since I had to let you go, it seems like yesterday I picked you up from the breeder and we were together. I will see you again soon on the rainbow bridge. Below is a poem by an unknown author. Have a read 👇🏻

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

It’s Christmas, the tree is lite so beautifully it twinkles like stars in the night sky. I’m somewhere new, Ive been here before but I’ve never been here for Christmas morning . Sumo, My Doberman, and I were celebrating a few things that year and a tragic loss ... celebrating a new Family and 2 wonderful kids , but my mom just passed in October of that year and it was a rough Christmas. I’m really not sure I would have survived if not for two wonderful boys. One of them is Jake, now my oldest son.

Jake want’s me to assemble LEGO for him, looks at me just like he does in this picture, these eyes you see came to be known as his puss-eyes. If you’ve seen the movie Shrek, there’s a cute little kitty played by Antonio Banderas that makes a “sad please face” this is that face. Fun fact about the movie Shrek Chris Farley had almost all his lines completed (90%) in the movie before he died. They had to start all over with Mike Myers, who would only do the movie if the script was rewritten. And So it was, Myers made $108,000 a minute in that movie.

So Jake looks at me, with puss-eyes and asks me to assemble LEGO because “it’s star wars and some of it’s pretty tough“ he said. I gladly agree, well it was tough. Damn tough, countless hours. Jake coming up to me for days saying “ oh looks good, you almost done” I would say “close buddy, almost “ as I bandage up my bleeding figure tips and fumbling with LEGO that feels like the size of and ant in my huge hands. Finally it’s done . Jake on the right in the fuzzy blue and green PJ’s is so happy, as is his little brother Griff

This post is about Jake my son, because today it’s his 16th BIRTHDAY While I wasn’t here for his first 6 Christmas’s i can guarantee I won’t miss another one while my heart still pumps blood and I’m on this earth. I am his step dad, his only dad, as his birth father was just a sperm donor and just left, threw these two kids aside like yesterday’s garbage. I stepped in and that’s the only time I will use the word step. I am his dad, I love him to death. He is a wonder boy , And it’s time to Party this blog is a little about Jake ❤️

Jake Is a very caring and loving boy, Well a man now almost. He’s not fond of school but which kid is ? Luckily he can breeze through it and get 80’s & 90’s with little effort. I was the opposite of this, I worked my ass off for a 70%. He loves building LEGO, he wants the BatMobile so bad for his birthday. Just like he did with Julie the pug, if he saves up his money he will buy that BatMobile. He is very driven and very determined as a child and I have no doubt when he finds a passion it will make him a very successful adult.

He enjoys playing video games, as most kids do. Likes watching movies at home and snuggling his big buddy Charlie. Or as I like to call him Charlie with a K ... Kharlie Kardashian because Charlie has a big ass, he does it’s true.Every night Charlie sleeps with Jake, when it’s time for bed or even before Charlie wants to go up stairs and sprawl out on the bed with his buddy Jake. Jake Loves Marvel’s Universe, and Lord of the rings, enjoys scary movies

His new favourite passion is hockey, loves the Edmonton Oilers. He knows every stat on every NHL player. I don’t know how his brain keeps all that info organized but it does. Games are just so expensive to go see but we try to see 4-5 games a year. With Covid affecting the playoffs this year he is pretty upset, Oilers we’re doing well and all of us were looking forward to a round or two of playoffs. Of course he likes McDavid 97 👏🏻 Jakes younger brother , my other son , Griffin loves the Calgary flames 🤢🤮. Part of me thinks just to tease Jake and I but he truly does seem to like them . I’ve failed as a parent , as a father ... the CALGARY FLAMES ... oh dear lord ...why god ? WWWHHHYYYYYY!

Jake is one of a kind, he’s Jake. My oldest son. I can not possible love you anymore than I do right now at this very moment. Being your dad comes from my heart, we aren’t blood but I don’t know any difference. You will do amazing things in your life, anything you can imagine it can be yours ❤️ Hard work and determination will get you anything , truly anything in this life .

I truly believe it takes a special person to love someone else’s kids as there own not everyone can do it.

Its early 1990’s I’m playing division one hockey and I’m Bleeding from my nose, the drips of blood hit the ice and freeze instantly. I skate to the sin bin, along with my competitor and his swollen bleeding lip. There are cameras here following me so we have to put up with them for this post. Sorry I know they are annoying, I’ll be talking to the camera in this post a bit. I’m not ignoring you, I just don’t want to be rude .

The ref hollers “5 min for fighting”

So while I sit in the penalty box I have 5 min to explain myself here. All game this #14 is hacking our best players, slashed our star player on his wrist really bad , hacking my calves, telling me he’s going to kick my ass. Sorry, Hold on one second “ya ok try it buddy, I’m ready anytime you are !” So anyway, everyone always wants to fight the big guy. Makes them feel like they accomplished something I guess ? I dunno. Can you hear that ? Turn up yur mic. 14 is talking again! Now he says he’s going to kick my ass when we get outta here. Hold on “good luck buddy you don’t have a chance !” Why is it everyone wants to fight? Yes , that’s true there are scouts in the stands watching Good point camera man. Oh that’s the buzzer, I’ll be back after the second intermission, better yet come to the dressing room. No sense you waiting here. Come on . Hey play the clip of the other guy in the box, he was yelling and going crazy!

I gotta get Kleenex for my nose, Sorry about that, the yelling you hear in the back ground is the coach. He’s just upset, this #14 keeps slashing our star player and he’s had enough. Here comes the coach , just be quite don’t say a word. “I want you to kick his ass when we go back out there, send a message” ok coach I will. Now you see the trainer over there, the Coach will send the trainer over to put Vaseline on my face. So it looks like I gotta fight this guy , well he wants to fight me bad so I guess it will happen. Hockey is a game of skill and also intimidation. Some times the other team needs to know not to fuck, whoops sorry , can you beep that out or should I start over ? Oh ok good, not to screw with your team or your star . Oh that’s a very Good question, yes I have dual rolls on this team while I have 2 assist tonight I also fight, and I’m good at it. Ohhh See told ya here comes the trainer. He applies Vaseline so when I get punched his fist slips off and won’t split the skin as easily. Bet you didn’t know that fun fact. Well here we go time to start the third, I have to go across the ice but you’ll have to run around and get to the box that way. See you soon. You missed it, he’s already saying he’s going to kick my ass when we get out. Only 1 minute left and the fight is on. You’ll have to stay here but I’ll talk to you after and explain what happened. Turn the camera look at him , he’s banging the glass With his stick yelling and screaming saying how he’s gonna kick my ass. I’m out, Well gotta go this will be fun, see you soon

So as you seen I came out of the box, skated over to his box and stood outside and waited for him. He wouldn’t come out. I think he changed his mind. Well as you saw I made his mind up for the both of us. I opened the door to the penalty box and went in and I started throwing punches and so did he, We both fell and I continued to throw punches. See the Vaseline worked like a champ, I was punched in the face so much and not even a mark. The refs couldn’t break it up because they couldn’t get in. Basically the fight stopped when we decided, So I leaned into him and said never slash our team again. I dont know if he will listen or not. And then I opened the door and skated to the dressing room. Did you get the video ready can I watch it ? Sweet ok hit play, oh that looks bad. Oh my god, It looks like I just went in and beat him up for no reason. You heard him though, he was saying he wanted to kick my ass and he’s gonna kill me. That video looks like I’m crazy. Keep the tape, I might need evidence. What’s you name by the way, Oh hey Bob . Good to meet you , Ok Bob cut the camera I’m going to shower now.

I wanna play a game, First I want to mention that Coil is not affiliated in this give away or game at all, in anyway or form. XRP are from my own personal stash 😋. If any of you have seen SAW movie franchise it’s very well put together and I highly recommend it but no I won’t chain you to a bathtub and make you confess your darkest secrets in order to save your life. I love movies that have clues to follow or paths to solve, thrillers that you try to figure out who dun it. I remember the, choose your own adventure books as a kid, I just loved those seeing which path was the right one. So I decided to make a simple hidden message game. I reached out to Coil and tried to see if there was a way I could pay for or gift a membership for a month to coil but sadly, though they are working on it, nothing has been remedied yet. I was hoping I could pay and get a promo code I could give the winner.

This game, I will encode a message in a coil post of mine . There will be 🤡 icon in the title of the post, just like I did in this very post. This will signify that in that post some where is a code and the game is on !

Can you find it? It might be easy so don’t over think it, or maybe it’s not so easy. Could be a phrase to decipher ? Or hidden letters that form a word ? Or Maybe something to find in a picture? A sentence is scrambled ? The list can go on. I’m going to try this once and if my feed back is good, then the games shall continue maybe with higher prizes. The lights go dim on an otherwise brightly lit concert hall, he’s been in this same position, time and time again. You would think he’s a pro by now. The butterflies in his stomach make him feel queasy. The crowd only arrived to see him and only him. They roar and cheer for him to come on stage. He waits and lets them cheer a little longer, it’s so loud it’s music to his ears, his feet vibrate from the pandemonium. He walks out from behind the curtain, an eruption like Mount St. Helens, the stage shakes with power. He pauses for a moment, waves, walks over to his piano, sits down and the crowd stops as fast as it started, like an engine out of gas. But this engine wasn’t out of gas it wanted to hear the first song lyric... he begins to play and utters the famous lyrics “Georgia.... Georgia.... the whole day through” the crowd now clapping because they don’t want to miss this. Where did it all start? To find out we have to go all the way back to the famous stock market crash that started in October 1929 was the beginning of The Great Depression. Ok not that far, in Georgia 1930, Aretha and Bailey Robinson are about to have a new baby. They are blessed with a baby boy, Ray Charles Robinson was born September 23 1930.

I simple love Ray Charles, his music just speaks to me, One of my favorite song by far is Georgia. This is not even a song written by Charles but everyone knows him for it. Also became the state song of Georgia, which makes perfect sense. Please have a listen, I simply love it.

A little over one year after Ray was born he had a younger brother George, sadly for only a few short years. When Ray was 5 years old, George and Ray were playing ouside, running and playing. The boys then decide fatefully to play in a metal wash bin. The tub was filled with soapy water from his mom washing clothes. George slipped and fell under the water, Ray tried to save him but couldn’t pull him out. His brother died at the age of 4.

Sadly just like George, neither one of his parents lived long enough to see his success. His father passed away when Ray was 10, but really wasn’t in his life anyway. And his mother passed away when Ray was just 15 and was really hard on him but, For good reason.

Shortly after George’s accidental passing, Ray started having eye problems. By the time he turned 7 he was completely blind from undiagnosed glaucoma, this is a gues, doctors weren’t 100% sure but that’s what it got attributed too. His mother was preparing him for a long life in the dark, he still had all his chores to do. Often falling and crying for help, only his mother was not coming. Ray realizing this, got up and continued to do his chores because he had to. His mother was loving, but firm. She knew he would have a very hard life if he didn’t figure out how to manage the world of darkness. Later in life Ray was so good at navigating through the the sighted world that people often thought he really could see and it was just a gimmick to sell records. Aretha, his mother, passed away when Ray just 15 and that’s when he tried his hand at music. Not doing very well, only working a few days a month money was tight so Ray moved to Seattle. As like most artists playing in bars, he started to drink. Drinking eventually led to drugs, heroin to be specific. He spoke very highly of Seattle recorded saying

“I liked the atmosphere. The people were friendly, the people took to me right away. Seattle is the town where I made my first record. And if you ever want to say where I got my start, you have to say that”

Seattle had a huge Jazz following, Ray penetrated this scene very quickly in under a week he had a job playing at the Black Elks Club. It was here that he met Quincy Jones another up and coming artist. Charles and Jones soon became life long friends and collaborated on many projects. Jones referred to there friendship as “Love at first instinct, for both of us” Jones was always amazed how Ray could shop, cook , wash his clothes and cross the street like he could see just fine. Never bumped into anything, untill the girls were around then ray pretended to be a little helpless so he could hold them as he walked. Pretty sneaky Ray, pretty sneaky

They played a few places and finally landed at a place called Rocking Chair Blues, the place Ray met a recording producer from LA named Jack Lauderdale. Ray was with Jack and Swing time records for about 3 years before moving to Atlantic records. Atlantic gave Ray a better deal and let him keep his masters, which meant he owned his music. Ray jumped at the opportunity, it was there he recorded Mess Around, written by Atlantic records founder and president. This was one of Rays first big hits

In 1965 Ray got charged with possession of heroin and took a year off to kick the addictive drug. Which he successfully did. Charles was hard to tie down, hr really liked the ladies he went on to have 2 marriages. He also had 12 children with 10 different women, Wow Ray. In an interview he once said:

“Cigarettes and smack (heroin) are the two truly addictive habits I've known. You might add women to that list as well”

I think I agree Ray. His talent topped the jazz, soul, pop, country and R&B charts. He’s had so many hits over the years I can’t name them all, hit the road Jack, Georgia, mess around, I’ve got a women , what’d I say, the list goes on and on. He won 12 Grammys over his career. In 1987 he won a life time achievement award, his music touched so many people.

Ray a movie about Ray Charles life was released to theatre October 29 2004. Just 4 months before the big release, Ray passed away in June 2004. Ray is a really great movie with Jamie fox Playing Ray Charles who did an amazing job in the role. If you haven’t seen It, I’d put it on the must watch list

John Candy, one of the greatest comedic actors of our time. I mean who can forget Planes,Trains and automobiles. The Great Outdoors, when he shoots that bears ass I think I died laughing. He was involved in some Iconic Films of the 80’s and early 90’s, sadly his life was cut short. He died of a heart attack March 4 1994. Why am I talking about uncle buck? I too played this role but, in real life. I looked after a family of 4 boys and 1 girl, it was interesting none the less

You recall I moved in with a lady for a few years, she liked her booze as it seemed everyone in this small rural town did, as well did I for a time. I met a friend there, His name was Joe he had 5 kids and a wife, worked over seas in the oilfield . Well basically the wife went nuts and strung out on crack she was never heard from again, alive or dead, no one knows. Well he needed someone when he was at work to watch the kids, He was away for 6 weeks and home for 6 weeks. Six weeks alone with 5 kids ? Was I nuts ??? But he also had some Reno’s he wanted to do and I like the sound of $1000 a week, to stay at the house, watch the kids, cook , clean , shop. Basically I was his uncle buck.

Things were going good, the kids were little Angeles. They did homework and helped each other do it. Did dishes, put away laundry ect. They were farm kids through and through. Shooting squirrels, skinning road kill. I came in the kitchen one day and there was a skull from some animal sitting there. Face ripped off and blood dripping on a plate ? Apparently I had to set a few ground rules. No skinning animals in the sink, seemed like a logical request . The house was a two story farm house. Needs work but great bones, nice floor plan and over all lay out of the house. Well they only had one bathroom so I was adding a second floor bathroom for them. I’m up on the 12/12 pitched roof installing the flashing and boot for the plumbing vent. I’m up so high I can see bright yellow farm field for miles. Now if you don’t know 12/12 pitched roof is steep, not crazy steep but dangerous none the less. Me being the safety guy that I am, I had on my harness and I even had a tie off connector bolted to the trusses

Ya right, I had NO harness on, safety is one thing I didn’t used to pay attention too. So I’m up there doing the vent and who comes up behind me ? His youngest boy, Garnet, who has a cleft palate the cutest kid you ever saw, wearing his little construction belt that he had, little yellow hammer on the side . He sneaks up and says “hello Gord” I jumped . “What are you doing up here !” I frantically say . He just wanted to come see me, he’s up there all the time he told me. I said “ how did you get up here ?” His little voice he replied “I climbed the TV antenna, it’s easy” Apparently they put there mattress on the grass and jump off the roof. Boys will be boys I thought, I told them “no jumping off the roof if I’m here. Wait till your dad is home” Can you believe it, jumping off the roof ! About 25 feet in the air.

My mom got sick with stage 4 cancer and I needed to look after her, so my uncle buck life got cut short. It was a good time I enjoyed playing hide and go seek on the farm with them. With all the entertainment and antics there was never a dull moment. I hope all those kids are doing well, kinda lost touch with them when my mom got sick and passed away.

Life is so hectic, so chaotic. Things cost so much money, life is expensive. I’ve often said to my wife I’d go back in time and be just fine, simple life , trade and barter kind of life. I’m a carpenter, you have cows , I’ll build you a barn you give me meat. I would be just fine to live in a time like this. Have You ever watched Oulander ? Great TV show, it’s about a lady named Claire married to a man named frank in 1946 . She finds these ancient stones In the Scottish highlands that transport just her from 1946 to 1743 Scotland. She has to survive and armed with her knowledge of future events helps her to navigate the past. People end up thinking she’s a witch and we all know what happened to witches back then. She Also falls in love with a Scottish man named Jamie. Who doesn't love a good Scottish man, P.S. I’m Scottish. Just like Claire goes to a simpler time, I feel we have aswell stepped into a simpler time. Strange for me to think of this as simple times, even though it’s more complicated in many, many ways. I guess what I mean no work , Staying home, cooking, doing projects around the house. A friend of mine recently said to me over the phone,

“WAIT! AM I RETIRED ? Or just dreaming”

I don’t know if this is a dream or a nightmare, one day we will wake up and everything will be back to normal. Probably not the old normal we once new but a new normal. I’m not grateful for the COVID-19, grateful is the wrong word. I can’t even say thankful because thats not right either. I don’t wish any death or suffering on anyone, I guess I am grateful and thankful for the time to spend with my family, thankful that we are all healthy, Grateful that we can make it through this together. I just like the simpler life, more time at home, more family time, going on walks, just being together and doing things

As a bonus while we are locked up an home, the world is healing. Wild life is coming back to places where it once was banished from all the human involvement.

Puma’s normally on the feet of people walking, now you see real puma’s roaming the streets

Foxes have been seen wandering there new landscape
