Oh it’s on Ferdi! I have your challenge in the the subscriber section. Get ready set GOOOO!

The old saying is shape up or ship out, well in my case ship out would be dying. As I get older this is something I don’t want to do. EITHER OF THEM ! I don’t want to shape up either, I’m happy in the now but my age is getting older and will only bring more health concerns and problems. I guess happy is a stretch, I wouldn’t say I’m happy in the now, but the thought of exercise on top of my daily job seems like a killer to me. I keep putting it off and saying I don’t have time, I’m too busy . But really I don’t want the battle that is ahead of me. The below image I think I’m second from the left. But I could be far left. It sneaks up on you and sneaks up fast. I have a crazy physical job, I’ve had friends help me before at work who go to the gym and can’t keep up to me at work, the next day they can’t move because of how sore they are. If I can get my diet under control and hit the gym 2-3days a week I think I can beat the battle and win the war, waist line war

I’ve battled weight all my life, in my younger days it was easy to keep it in check. I played hockey at a very high competitive level 6 days a week and worked out 3-4 days a week. 6’4” 230 lbs solid muscle. Then life became more important , worked more , exercise was none existent, I ate bad daily because it was easy. I put on weight and lost, put on more, tried Atkins diet and it worked I lost 200 lbs but put it back on . I fought and fought. A life style change is what I need, not a diet. I know how to do it, in my late 20’s early 30’s I lived and worked out reading the Arnold Schwarzenegger encyclopedia as my bible.

I don’t want to brag, ok I do, My biceps were 2” smaller than Arnold’s. I was pretty proud of that, I don’t want that this time. This time I’m about heath. I don’t need to be shredded, I just don’t know if I have the drive to loose weight again. It’s a lot of work.

This literally will be the battle of a life time, my life time, it’s a battle for my life.

Ferdi XRPTWIN is going to be coming along with me on this journey as he too said he has to shed some pounds as he put it. Make sure you check out his posts on weight loss as well. We will do challenges for one another and kind of make it fun 😊. Me being larger, I have more to lose 200 lbs approx. But really it’s not about my weight, it’s about when I start to feel better and healthier. I’m not a fan of scales, because as you build muscle you get heavier. So scales can be used to measure weekly or monthly goals and that’s all. Even in high school by height and weight I was considered obese, really ?? I was in good shape. So weight alone can not be tracked.

Maybe I have a strange brain but I always think in terms of time.... so I’ll tell you what it costs?! TIME The world is getting more expensive. Costs are skyrocketing for almost everything you want or need. Going to the grocery store is a painful reminder of this VERY FACT. Everything is going up and costing more time or should I say money. Prices rise, your hourly wage has become stagnet, I guess you could say like the price of XRP. How many hours does something cost you?

One of the most valuable things we have to give is time, we only have so much of it. The clock is ticking so to speak. So when you spend money, what your really spending is time. It took you time to make that money that you so easily gave up for that new truck. For this Blog Let’s say you make $25 an hour, $17.50 after tax. You gave up 160 hours of your time in one month to get a $2600 pay check after tax roughly. So that new truck isn’t $1000 a month is 56 hours a month, almost 1/3 of your working time. That’s crazy , does that new truck bring you 50 hours of joy ????

I’ve often thought this way, weird way of thinking so I thought I’d share it. Also if we go for a nice dinner I think “shit that just cost us 17 hours of work” Or going to a movie as a family costs say 6 hours of work or I should say time. A family holiday costs 500 HOURS ! 3 months of work at $17.50 an hour. GOOD GAWD!

Another thing I do is calculate if that time is worth what I got in exchange for my time ?? An example would be a movie with pops and snacks.

🔹6 hours of work time ✖️ $17.50 an hour = $105

🔹Movie length 2.5 hours ➗ $105 = $42 per hour of entertainment

🔹 $42 per hour ➗ 4 of us = $10.50 per hour of entertainment per person.

Now really if you think of it, that’s a great deal. $10 per hour of fun. CHEAP !

Now I’m not saying I’m great at managing my time, I’m not. I work too much and I’m trying to scale that back but it’s difficult, but I’m trying. I am still taking fridays off but find I just fill that time with another project, I drop the kids off at school everyday and pick them up 3 days a week, grandma has the other two days and I’m very grateful 🤗 she is a huge life saver. The old saying time is money, well is should be money is time. Time is so valuable and there’s no way to make more time. We only have the time that god gives us, sadly that hourglass is losing grains of sand not gaining any.

Now it’s true you can’t buy time, time can not be bought no matter how many billions Of dollars you have time still chases you down and the grim reaper can’t be out ran. But you can sway Lady Luck in your direction? How you ask, simple take care of your body so you can live healthier which in turn live longer. Though nothing is guaranteed, it definitely can’t hurt to get in better shape. I’ve been thinking this for awhile and always say I don’t have time but really 👇🏻

This weekend is Thanksgiving long weekend in Canada. Today, Monday October 12 is thanksgiving, 2020 has been a real shit storm of tragic news and economic revelation and no signs of improvement in the horizon. Even though it seems like there might not be much to be thankful for, it’s there you just have to look. Being optimistically positive is a real hard thing to do, hell being positive is hard. You have to search for It sometimes, but I’m always a glass half full kind of guy. I see a bone dry empty glass and see it as the glass is full, yes FULL, the glass is full of oxygen, we need it to breath. Let’s get a little Canadian history before I tell you what I’m thankful for.

The American thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, while in Canada ours gobble gobble day is the second Monday in October. It all started back in 1575 and Martin Frobisher, an English explorer was on his third and final expedition through northeastern Canada water ways in search of the Northwest Passage, which he never did find.

Fun fact : he found a mountain of gold on his trips, he brought it all back home but turns out it was all pyrite- fools gold . So you could say he was the first Canadian fool 🤣

This third trip was met with terrible weather even for Canada. They fought through high winds and mounds of ice, and he even lost of one of his ships to furious Mother Nature. A freak storm in July, yes July, it is Canada after all and we can get terrible weather at the drop of a hat. This storm separated his army of 15 ships, to now 14, for weeks they battled through the weather conditions and they were able to reunite in August in the area that would become known as Frobisher’s Bay in present day.

A celebration to God for reuniting them all safely was held by Robert Wolfall who was a priest and the chaplain of the voyage. He congregated everyone together for a meal and a mass. No turkey on the menu, they most likely dined on salted beef, some crackers and mushy peas. I dunno how tasty that would be ? Thankfully the USA introduced their northern neighbor to turkey on this holiday. I love turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce blog from a can, don’t let me forget to mention pumpkin pie......

Fun fact : The name Canada most likely comes from the Aboriginal word “kanata,” meaning village or settlement. Two Aboriginal youths told French explorer Jacques Cartier about the route to kanata; they were actually referring to the village of Stadacona, the site of the present-day City of Québec.

Before the makings of the first thanksgivings in the US and Canada, long before our ancestors would celebrate a great harvest. Indigenous people have been celebrating the fall harvest that predates the arrival of European settlers for 12,000 to 48000 years, yes that’s true..... The US thanksgiving is about the 1621 harvest and a huge celebration that lasted three days and members of the Wampanoag tribe were in attendance to celebrate. This celebration featuring the uniquely North American turkey, squash and pumpkin was then introduced to Nova Scotia in the 1750s and became common across Canada by the 1870s. God bless the turkey on this day.

Today is a day of thanks, many things I am happy and thankful for this year. Yes the world in it’s current state is a little unsettling, but I urge you to find those thankful things. A positive mind has a positive life. A few things I’m grateful for in the subscriber only section.

Where is the worlds gold stored? With World War ll just started the nations of the world turned to the US to store it’s gold. But Fort Knox is only for US Gold ?

Fort Knox built in 1932, a marvel of engineering and security. The depository is currently the most secure facility. Between its fenced perimeter and granite lined concrete structure are rings of razor wire and minefields. The grounds are monitored by high-resolution night vision video cameras and microphones. The subterranean vault is made of steel plates, I-beams and cylinders encased in concrete. Its torch-and-drill resistant door is 21 inches (53 cm) thick, YES ALMOST TWO FEET THICK and weighs 20 TONS. The vault door is set on a 100-hour time lock, and can only be opened by members of the depository staff who must dial separate combinations. It takes 10 men to open the door not because of the weight of the door but because of all the actions that must be performed at once to open the door. It is so secure that the term “as safe as Fort Knox” has become a metaphor for safety and security.

Visitors are not allowed inside and even the President of the United States, the highest office in the USA is denied access to Fort Knox. Only one president has even been allowed inside the vault, that president was Franklin Roosevelt.

Fort Knox began losing its luster or usefulness when the United States went off the gold standard in 1971 and from that day inflation and dollar value has been declining ever since. Before that, gold bars packed into a secure vault gave people faith in the country’s currency. Today, Fort Knox’s gold is nothing more than an asset on the Federal Reserve’s balance sheet, no longer a key integral part of the United States monetary system. But don’t let that fool you there is still gold in Fort Knox. But how much gold ?

As of 31 July 2020, Fort Knox holds close to 150 million ounces of gold reserves with a current value 295 BILLION USD today. The highest historic gold holdings of Fort Knox was 649.6 million ounces In December of 1941 over 4X the current amount. But if the little Kentucky vault holds 56% of the gold in the US then where is the rest? Well to answer that we need to go to Wall Street and THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK

Located under the streets of New York, Deep Deep below the streets of Wall Street. How deep ? The current vault constructed in 1920’s sits 80 feet below street level and 50 feet below sea level. Wow that is deep, the vault is so impenetrable that 3 personal have access to the vault and all 3 have to be there when the doors open. Even to change a light bulb .

How many people does it take to change a lightbulb in the federal reserve?

4 – two members of the New York Fed gold vault staff and one member from the New York Fed internal audit staff. Plus one maintenance personal. Now that’s an expensive light bulb !

The federal reserve bank (FRB) security measures are so trusted that even foreign governments use it for their gold storage. How much gold is in the federal reserve? Well a lot, 192 million ounces to be exact. Valued at almost 375 BILLION USD. Not all the gold is US owned but US protected in this 8 story deep vault. Each nation’s gold is verified upon entry and stored in its own sub vault, located in the main vault. No co-mingling of gold insures the bars you brought in are the bars that leave. No personal gold storage, only nations are allowed to store there physical gold in the FRB. Unlike the Federal Reserve,the gold located in Fort Knox is 100% US owned also I should state the US owns the most gold in the world followed by Germany.

Will Nation’s of the world 🌎 who store their gold in the federal reserve ever remove it from the vault? With the current status of the world, would the US not let them take it ? Would the countries want the gold in their own possession? In Canada if the world goes to a gold backed currency we are not in a good position with our current gold holdings.
